DNS monitoring

DNS monitoring records changes to your domains and can email you when records move. Open Domains, then DNS monitoring, or enable the DNS switch on a domain card.

Modes (per domain)

Set up DNS monitoring

  1. Open Domains -> DNS monitoring (or enable DNS on a domain under All Domains and finish setup here).
  2. Filter All domains or select one domain.
  3. Under What do you want for this domain?, choose a mode.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Review DNS change history as changes appear. Optionally run Analyze on a row if your plan allows.
  6. Set who receives DNS emails: open Contacts (link on the page, or Domains -> Contacts) and enable the DNS monitoring notification type for those contacts.

FAQ

How is DNS monitoring different from Theft Guard?

Theft Guard watches for unauthorized domain-level security changes. DNS monitoring keeps DNS change history and optional change emails focused on DNS records.

Which notification mode should I pick?

Off disables history and mail. History on this page only, no emails logs changes in the UI. Email me on every DNS change sends plain facts. Email only if a change looks risky may add an AI explanation when your plan has credits.

Does every DNS email use AI credits?

Only modes that include AI explanations (risky-change emails and manual Analyze on a row) can use credits. “Every change” emails are factual without AI in the message.

How do I enable DNS monitoring for one domain?

Turn the DNS switch on the domain card under All Domains, or open Domains → DNS monitoring, pick the domain, choose a mode, and click Save.

Who receives DNS alert emails?

Add verified contacts under Domains → Contacts and enable the DNS monitoring notification type. See Contacts.
